Lyme Regis can get very busy especially during school holidays. This guide will help you to choose between the different car parks and make the most of your visit. All car parks work on a Pay and Display basis
Car Parking Close to Coombe Street
We recommend using Woodmead Halls Car Park, just a four minute walk from our holiday accommodation in Coombe Street. It’s the closest car park and for guests staying at our accommodation we can provide permits for any numbers of days at discounted rates subject to availability. A added bonus of this car park is that the Police Station is located at the back of the car park offering some peace of mind.
The car park charges £1 per hour or £30 for a 7 day permit (correct as at August 2016). You can pay at the machine in £1 coins, online with RingGo or by phone on 01297 570470 (parking code 7620).

Edge Of Town Centre Car Parking
There are two district council run car parks in Lyme Regis, which charge by the day. Walking time from our holiday cottages in Coombe St, the closest is Charmouth Road Car Park at about 9 mins and then Holmbush Car Park, which is about 11 mins.
Both car parks charge the same from Monday – Sunday, 8am – 6pm, an all day cost of just £2. Parking from 6pm – 8am is free. You can pay for as many days as you need at the machine, by phone on 01202 804444, or by the phone and pay website or app.
There are around 390 spaces in each car park but on a sunny summer’s day these will both fill quickly so arriving no later than 11am should guarantee a parking spot.
Holmbush Car Park
Holmbush is situated on the A3052 entering from Rousdon, and is just a few minutes walk from the beach and the centre of town. More info…
Charmouth Road Car Park
Charmouth Road car park is on the eastern side of town, and as the road name suggests is located on the road from Charmouth, just below Lyme Regis Football Club. More info…
Park & Ride
There is also a Park and Ride service which operates from just outside Lyme Regis to the East, on the A3052 road to Rousdon. Unfortunately, it only operates during school holidays. Rates for the Park and Ride fluctuate with season, and pick up and drop off outside the Cobb Arms Pub.
Beach Car Parking
If you want easier access to the beach then there is a car park at the bottom of Cobb Road, just West of the Cobb itself called Cabanya Car Park. There are around 200 parking spots here and each 2 hour period costs £2.00(when booking online or over the phone, car park code is 7621).
Town Centre Car Parking
There is an NCP car park situated on the main high street (Broad Street) in between Tesco’s and Boots. This is a much smaller car park, with approximately 50 parking spots, and has a minimum charge of £1.80 for one hour, with 1-3 hours costing £3.30, and 3-24 hours costing £4.00.Due to the situation of the car park larger vehicles cannot be accommodated here (when booking over phone or online, car park code is 9216).
There are also two car parks at the bottom of Lyme, situated directly opposite each other. Cobb Gate car park, a stones throw from the beach, can accommodate approximately 20 cars, whilst across the road can accommodate closer to 40. Both charge the same rates, and are as follows:
20 minutes- 40p
1 hour- 70p
2 hours- £1.60
3 hours- £4.00
Each Subsequent hour- £4.00
Booking details can be found when clicking the RingGo link at the bottom of this page.
